In Lotta Pyykkönen’s landscapes we can sense the silent and calming force of nature in the North. Her simple and clear horizontal compositions take the viewer straight into the scenery, to the beach of a lake or to the edge of the meadow, far away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded cities.

Art
I think of myself as a very Finnish artist. Like for many artists in Finland, nature is my greatest source of inspiration. In my work I use materials that are typical for us such as wood and paper. My images have highly simplified forms and I also tend to be ascetic in my use of colours.
